Short Form Video Editor (Clipper)

Pay: $200 for 10 videos

Role overview

Turn supplied footage into focused short videos for social platforms. You will find strong moments in longer recordings, shape a clear opening and progression, and finish each clip with accurate captions, balanced audio, and a suitable vertical export. The role requires editorial judgment as well as technical editing: the finished clip should hold attention while preserving the meaning of the source and the truth of any product demonstration.

What success looks like in this role

  • Each clip begins with a relevant moment and forms a complete, understandable story without requiring the viewer to watch the source recording.
  • Cuts remove repetition and dead time while preserving the speaker's meaning and the actual order of a demonstrated product workflow.
  • Captions are proofread, synchronized, easy to read, and positioned clear of important visuals and platform controls.
  • Dialogue remains clear above music and effects, and reframing keeps the speaker or product action visible on a phone screen.
  • The batch meets the agreed format and delivery brief, with checked exports and organized files that are easy to review or revise.

Role requirements

  • Ability to edit confidently in Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or a comparable tool and manage a project from source files to final export.
  • Editorial judgment for selecting useful moments, creating a strong opening, and keeping a short story clear and well paced.
  • Practical skills in vertical reframing, caption timing and proofreading, basic color correction, and dialogue and music balancing.
  • Understanding of asset permissions: use approved footage, music, fonts, and graphics, and flag unclear rights before adding them.
  • A portfolio of short clips that shows your editing choices and contribution. Personal work or source-to-final examples are welcome as evidence.

Key responsibilities

  • Review supplied recordings and the brief, identify candidate moments, and select clips with a clear message and sufficient context.
  • Build a strong opening and purposeful pacing without changing quoted meaning, inventing outcomes, or fabricating product interactions.
  • Reframe for the requested vertical format and add accurate captions and useful graphics while respecting the platform's safe areas.
  • Clean and balance speech, music, and effects; check that all added assets are approved for the intended use.
  • Watch each final export, apply review feedback, and deliver the agreed batch of ten videos with clearly named files and the requested project materials.
